Taxonomy: f. Plasmodidae
Animal: Plasmodium vivax 7 19.jpg
Sites: Blood
Comment:
Plasmodium vivax trophozites and pre-segmented schizont in thick film. They look somewhat smaller than you would expect with P.vivax but it is because they are in a thick film which takes longer to dry so time for the parasites to contract to a resting state and they are not as flattened as they would be in the area of ideal thickness of a thin film. Final diagnosis should be based on the examination of the thin films.
